Breathe is pleased to announce the arrival of two new art therapy students, Hazel Leech and Sarah Mulliner, to the organisation.

Breathe employs a range of specialist and qualified health and wellbeing practitioners, with the vision of providing holistic and person-centred care, and the arrival of Hazel and Sarah opens up an innovative and creative approach to integrating the arts with Breathe’s healthcare practice.

Hazel is a 2nd year trainee Art Therapist with a vast background in library, education, and health roles. Hazel completed her Fine Art degree at UCLAN and is very heavily invoanlved in community Arts for Health projects ever since.

Hazel commented: “I have been warmly welcomed into the Breathe team where I have been impressed by the dedication of staff who are providing much needed services. I feel that art therapy has an important role to play in the support of mental health and fits right in with the holistic provision at Breathe therapies.” Click here to learn more about Hazel.

Sarah brings a wealth of experience in CBT, hypnotherapy, yoga therapy, and is a qualified TRE (trauma/tension release exercises) practitioner. She has also worked as a part-time photographer specialising in mostly portraits and still life, after having acquired her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1999.

Sarah commented: “Having had previous and present working experience within the mental health field, I am happy to be joining the Breathe team and continue to provide support for those that need it. As a trainee Art Therapist, I am excited to be able to offer this modality within what I consider to be a caring holistic environment and I aim to continue to uphold this caring professionalism for the company and with the clients.” Click here to learn more about Sarah.

Art therapy is a holistic form of client-lead psychotherapy which focuses on the creative use of art to communicate and address emotional issues and enhance individual well-being and self-discovery.

Therapeutic artmaking provides clients with a means for expression that is otherwise difficult to verbalise, whilst integrating person-centred support with the physical, emotional, and psychological of their wellbeing.
