Redwoods Dowling Kerr are pleased to announce the successful sale of two historic residential freehold care homes situated in Accrington, Lancashire.

Wellfield is the first of the two homes and has been under the same family ownership since the mid 1960’s. This well-known home has established a good reputation over the years for providing care, support and dignity for the elderly, with a capacity for 29 residents.

Henley House is the second home and has a capacity for 23 residents. It was established by the present owners back in 1983. Since that time the home has become renowned for providing professional, respectful, and efficient care.

The care settings are operated by an experienced management team, supported by an expert ensemble of care practitioners. This hard work is reflected by Henley House being rated as “Good” by the CQC in 2019.

The owner wanted to sell the two properties as they wanted to retire. Redwoods Dowling Kerr was instructed in the sale and our buyer intelligence generated four viewings, which resulted in four strong offers.

The care homes were sold to a first-time buyer who said the location and opportunity to increase profits attracted them to the business.

Upon completion of the sale, the buyer said: “I am very happy to have purchased a group of two care homes from Redwoods Dowling Kerr and would certainly work with them again in acquiring further opportunities.

“The purchase had become protracted in the lockdown and Asif Musa was extremely helpful in keeping the deal on track, whenever a problem occurred during the sale Asif quickly jumped on it to resolve it.

“Asif also recommended us to one of their panel of solicitors who did a great job in bringing the sale to a satisfactory completion. We all know going through healthcare transaction is never easy, but it is good to deal with professional who understands the business and wants to get the deal done on both sides.

“I would certainly work with RDK and Asif again and have confidence in their ability.”

Healthcare Negotiator, Asif Musa said: “It has been a pleasure working with our client for all the hard work she has put in during these difficult times to get the sale over the line.

“It has been an excellent result for all concerned. I wish my clients all the best with their retirement.”
