True Bearing makes new appointment to board of directors

True Bearing Chartered Financial Planners is delighted to announce that Lisa Govier has been appointed as business improvement director and joins the board of directors with immediate effect.

Lisa will head up their new Business Improvement Department and will be instrumental in helping pick up the pace of True Bearing’s growth plans for the region. She will also assist in driving strategies that foster continuous evolution and improvement for the firm and will play a key strategic addition to the board.

Lisa joined True Bearing in May 2021 in a newly created role as growth project manager. The last few years have been a period of change and growth for True Bearing, having joined the Amber River group in 2021 and expanded key areas of the business within that time. Lisa has more than 20 years of experience in management roles within the Financial Services industry, most recently as Relationship Director with Schroders Personal Wealth.

It is also noted that Lisa’s appointment to the True Bearing Board of Directors takes their percentage of female directors up to 50 per cent, a number significantly above the FTSE 100 average of 34.5 per cent (Statista.com) and the financial services industry average of 30 per cent (Stemwomen.com).

Of the appointment, True Bearing managing director Susan Peary says: "Lisa joined True Bearing with a proven track record in developing and leading high-performance teams. She has a wealth of experience and a determination to succeed, which has been demonstrated by delivering excellent business results since joining our firm. We are delighted Lisa agreed to join the board; her appointment enhances our already strong leadership team and supports our growth aspirations."

Of the appointment, Lisa says: "I am immensely proud to join the board of directors at True Bearing, a company which holds clients and colleagues front and centre in all that they do. I look forward to further assisting the business on a strategic level and helping with the growth plans at a very exciting time following the partnership with Amber River. There are so many people we can help in so many ways to plan for a life well lived and we have the expertise and passion to do just that."
