Tributes have been paid to Trevor Dawson, the founder of the commercial property business which took his name, who has died following a short illness.
The 82-year-old established Trevor Dawson Commercial Property Consultants in 1989 and was s a senior partner until his daughter, Caroline James, assumed the mantel. He remained as a consultant with the firm until 2014.Trevor started his career as a chartered surveyor at Duckworths Estate Agents in Accrington, and soon became well known and well regarded.
Duckworths later became part of the Entwistle Green group with Trevor taking on the responsibility for the Commercial Property Department. After Entwistle Green was taken over by Lloyds Bank as part of Black Horse Agencies, Trevor left to set up his own commercial property practice.Outside of work, he was known for his love of magic, as well as a short stint turning out for Haslingden Cricket Club and more than 50 years served with Accrington Rotary Club.
A company statement read: "Trevor was a devoted family man and was married to Susan for 56 years and has three children Caroline, Andrew and Sarah and three grandchildren Edward, Sarah and Abigail. He was extremely proud of his close-knit family, home in Wiswell and garden that he created and tended there. "Trevor will be very sadly missed by his family and former work colleagues."
