Total Foodservice scoops two international awards
Clitheroe-based catering wholesaler Total Foodservice has been honoured for its rigorous approach to health and safety at the International Safety Awards 2013.[caption id="attachment_25024" align="f-align-medium-right f-align-center" width="300"] Radoslaw Kozlowski[/caption]
The firm took home the prestigious company award – a recognition of a proven commitment to workplace health and safety – and Total Foodservice’s health and safety representative Radoslaw Kozlowski was also awarded the individual title of International Health and Safety Champion.Radoslaw was nominated by Peter Kozlowski, operations manager for the Clitheroe site at Total Foodservice and was shortlisted to the final five, out of 500 nominations. Attending the gala awards dinner along with his colleagues at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel Radoslaw was announced as the winner.
He has succeeded in developing a nearly hazard-free working environment by focusing on a number of safety features, including bailer checks, pallet truck checks and plant checks.The International Safety Awards, now in their 55th year, are open to organisations of all sizes across all industries and seeks to promote high standards of health and safety management practice in order to prevent workplace injury and ill health. Such incidents cost the UK economy upwards of £13bn per year according to the Health and Safety Executive.
Radoslaw’s manager Paul Nowell, operations director at Total Foodservice, said: “Radoslaw constantly shows complete dedication to not only executing and promoting the stringent health and safety regulations the company has in place, but also suggesting sensible amendments to those policies and managing the change throughout the business."
