Top university backs Health and Wellbeing Conference

CLP2659

Delegates at this year's Health and Wellbeing Conference will gain insight on building happier and healthier workforces, with support from joint headline sponsor, University of Central Lancashire.

Topics covered will include mental and physical health, financial wellbeing and menopause, with actionable takeaways that all businesses will be able to implement in their own workplaces.

The event takes place at Crow Wood Hotel in Burnley on Tuesday 23 April

Attendees will have opportunities to engage with experts, ask questions, and network.

Professor Steven Rhoden, dean of the school of business at University of Central Lancashire, said: “The University of Central Lancashire is proud to be the joint sponsor of the Lancashire Health and Wellbeing conference. The University is acutely aware of the role businesses and work, play in improving the health and wellbeing of the Lancashire workforce.

“In the School of Business, our applied research, such as the Work in Lancashire report undertaken by our Institute for Research into Work, Organisations and Employment and Our Help to Grow Programme, delivered by the Centre of SME Development are just two examples of how our research and knowledge exchange activity support businesses in embracing workplace health and wellbeing practices through effective management.

“We are looking forward to the event"

Mental health charity Lancashire Mind and award-winning workplace therapy provider YOLO Wellbeing will also exhibit at the conference, on hand to share specialised advice and expertise one-to-one

Adrian Wright, UCLan’s associate dean, school of business and David Dunwell, Lancashire Mind’s CEO, will also be contributing to the conversation from the stage, along with confirmed speakers Cheryle Britton, YOLO Wellbeing’s founder, Dave Scholes, founder of Six Connections who specialises in mental health, and John Addis, associate director of chartered financial planner at Amber River True Bearing, joint headline sponsor, who will deliver a masterclass on financial wellbeing.

Stephen Bolton, managing director of Lancashire Business View, said: “This event has something for all employers. It’s not just about building more productive workforces - though that of course is a major benefit - but also taking care of the individuals that work with us and for us.

“It’s been a difficult number of years for people as much as businesses.

“With the weight of a top university such as UCLan, and insight into money worries and how to address them from the experts at Amber River True Bearing, we hope to play our part in getting conversations started across the county and finding and implementing effective solutions.”

Lancashire Business View also created and organises the Red Rose Awards, Lancashire Business Day, the Lancashire Festival of Business, Lancashire Net Zero Carbon Conference and Lancashire Built Environment Conference.

The event will be reviewed in full in Lancashire Business View’s Health and Wellbeing Report in our May/June edition and shared with our 50,000 readers in print and online.

Tickets are available for £50+vat and can be booked here.
