Three Peaks challenge, a marathon and lots of cake…our 2023 CSR and fundraising update

The team here at Amber River True Bearing have raised another record amount for charity in 2023, beating all our previous annual fundraising, with an overall total of £24,653. Amber River True Bearing (previously known as True Bearing Chartered Financial Planners) the North-West hub of the Amber River Group, raised this as part of our corporate & social responsibility initiative, which aims to give back to the local community through charitable donations and volunteering.

Most of these funds were raised for two local charities: Derian House and St Catherine’s Hospice, which were specially chosen by the True Bearing staff, being local and close to their hearts. The team also supported a range of other charities, both local and national, such as Macmillan Cancer Care, Cancer Research UK, the Stroke Association and our local food bank, Living Waters throughout the course of the year.

Raising this incredible amount has been both a team and individual effort with a wide variety of different fundraising activities taking place throughout the year. These included physical challenges such as colleagues walking the Three Peaks Challenge, our Director Mike Clarke running the London Marathon, a company-wide Walkathon and the Moonlight & Memories walk. Of course, in typical Amber River True Bearing style our fundraising activities also included eating cake, with our Easter Jacobs Join and a spooky Halloween bake sale raising funds for our two chosen charities. We also held our yearly Macmillan Coffee Morning for Macmillan Cancer Care. Additionally, Amber River True Bearing celebrated their 20th Anniversary in September 2023 and a party held for colleagues, friends and connections raised £4,835.00, which contributed to the total.

Over the festive period we held a Christmas Jumper Day, seasonal quiz and Jacobs Join, raising £601 and we had a collection for our local food bank, Living Waters.

Marketing Manager, Jayne Raven who chairs our charity committee said “It’s been a fantastic year and the amount that Amber River True Bearing has raised for all these charities will make a huge difference to the lives of those we have supported in 2023. We are proud to have made such a positive impact on our local communities through our fundraising initiatives. We look forward in continuing our fundraising activities through 2024”.
