Three companies make Sunday Times growth list

Three mid-sized Lancashire companies have been recognised for their outstanding growth with a place on the Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250 league table.

The list follows on from the Top Track 100 and ranks the next 250-biggest companies by sales, where sales or profit growth is more than five per cent.

Ranking in the top three is Nelson's Daisy Group, which features for the first time this year.

The communications services provider, part-owned by entrepreneur Matt Riley, recorded sales of £684m, a 14 per cent year-on-year increase, achieving profit of £127m.

The Sentor Group, the Accrington-based office furniture manufacturer owned by the Mustoe family, placed 180th with sales of £165m.

The Silentnight Group of Barnoldswick, the iconic manufacturer of beds, ranked 203rd with sales of £152m.

There are 25 companies representing the northwest overall, compared to 21 last year. The full league table will be published as a 10-page supplement within the business section of The Sunday Times this weekend.
