Themis at Burnley College lands national apprenticeship award

Themis, the Apprenticeship and business training division of Burnley College has been accredited with the prestigious Apprenticeships 4 England ‘2014 Training Provider of The Year Award’.

The inaugural National awards ceremony took place in London during National Apprenticeship Week, following the Apprenticeships 4 England Voice of Apprenticeships Conference.

The Apprenticeships 4 England Awards recognise the significant contribution made by Training providers and Colleges in supporting and delivering apprenticeships in England.

A significant number of entries were received for the awards, in which applicants were asked to demonstrate several core competencies in their entries including delivery of apprenticeships, focus on the learner, partnerships with employers and the contribution made to the wider community

The judges were particularly impressed with Themis due to its high caliber of training programmes and growth within key sectors including engineering.

Angela Jones, head of Themis, said:  “To be announced as the National Apprenticeship Provider of the Year is an amazing achievement and a great start to what looks to be another very successful year.”

“The demand for apprenticeships in Pennine Lancashire has increased in recent years as a growing number of employers see it as a highly valuable way to recruit future talent. Many young people now see apprenticeships as a really attractive career path." “We are extremely proud of our work with our Apprentices and employers and thank the Apprenticeships 4 England panel for recognising this. Behind each apprentice success is a solid and supportive partnership between the Apprentice, their employer and the Themis team. We always seek to provide the best training and development experience to all members of this partnership and proudly celebrate the achievement of their success.”
