The Landmark in Burnley is celebrating after its first wedding fair was deemed a huge success by its owners and suppliers.

Held in The Landmark’s 1873 Wing, Burnley’s newest, exclusive and boutique wedding venue following a £2million revamp of the iconic and Grade II listed former Burnley Grammar School, the wedding fair took place on Saturday 18th June from 10am-3pm, with several bookings made during the event.

With the chance to get an eagerly anticipated look at the beautifully restored building, there was a fantastic turnout of brides and grooms to be – who also got the chance to win £1,000 off their wedding package if they booked within 30 days of the wedding fair, while anyone who books within that timeframe is guaranteed to win a ‘Bath of Beer’ worth £300.

Alongside the spectacular surroundings, visitors to the wedding fair also got the opportunity to meet with a fantastic range of suppliers including a bridal shop, wedding cake supplier, live bands, photographer, florist, make up and hair technician, room dresser, henna tattoo artist and a wedding stationary supplier.

Claire Rhodes, general manager at The Landmark, said: “It was the most amazing day. We had so many people walking through the door and even booked weddings at the event which was great! All our suppliers had really good things to say about the day too.

“If you didn’t get chance to attend the wedding fair, don’t worry, you can still get in touch with our team any day of the week, and also keep an eye out for any upcoming events and wedding fairs.”

You can contact The Landmark team by calling 01282 940095, emailing [email protected] or by visiting their website: https://greathall.landmarkburnley.co.uk/

Hannah Greenwood from Bella’s Bakes, who exhibited at the wedding fair, commented: “The venue is gorgeous, it’s got character, it’s a little bit different which is something you can’t find everywhere and it’s right in the heart of Burnley town centre, which makes it extremely convenient for everyone.”

Jonathan Towers from local band In Bloom, another supplier at the wedding fair, said: “Today has been really good for us, it has given us a chance to talk to clients and to speak to them about what they are doing for their wedding and if they do want live music. We had quite a few enquiries at the wedding fair which is great and we can’t wait to send out more details to them all.”

Stacey Marshall from Strawberry Thief Wedding Stationary, added: “I actually came to college here at The Landmark many years ago doing fashion and textiles, and now it has been made into this beautiful wedding venue, it’s got gorgeous stained glass windows, lovely beams and original features, and the staff are amazing.”

The 1873 Wing is Burnley’s newest event destination, hosting everything from live music to inspiring talks, as well as being a venue for all life’s celebrations including 21st Birthdays, christenings, private dining for large parties and weddings.

The exclusive, boutique venue which has availability in both 2022 and 2023, can cater from 35 to 80 guests for a seated wedding breakfast, and up to 150 guests for the evening reception, with on-site parking available.

The unique architecture of the building allows multiple, exclusive locations for people to celebrate their big day including fully private entrances, The Great Hall with its arched-braced open timber roof, The Old Library with views of St Peter’s Church and the stunning Atrium entrance, with its external glass lift, red carpet and unique stained glass windows.

There’s also plenty of beauty spots for those all importing wedding photos, with the stained glass windows, grand staircase and historical gardens all providing stunning backdrops.
