TES Wireless Communications Launches “Leased Line Killer”

A Lancashire firm has announced the launch of a high-speed voice and data service that will significantly undercut the cost of traditional Leased Lines for businesses.

Leyland-based TES Wireless Communications Solutions specialise in radio technology and infrastructure systems.

They plan to help businesses use a radio-based system, rather than Leased Lines – the “always-on” dedicated telephone connection. Businesses typically use traditional Leased Lines between their various offices, as they don’t carry anyone else's communications and therefore guarantee a level of bandwidth and quality.

However, users of Leased Lines are typically charged a fixed monthly fee that is determined by the capacity of the line and the distance between its end points. A typical connection of 100 MB per second over 100 miles can cost £20,000 over a three year contract.

Keith Edwards, managing director of TES Wireless Communications (pictured), said: “Our wireless broadband portfolio will allow businesses to transmit high data rates over long distances and in a far more cost effective way than with a traditional Leased Line.

“We believe that our solution will liberate businesses from preclusive Leased Line costs, whilst comfortably delivering comparable levels of bandwidth. And due to having fewer points of potential failure, we expect to offer greater reliability – unlike with copper or fibre, a radio connection can’t be dug up by a utilities company! “We can also offer a vastly reduced lead time where clients will be operational in under a month, as opposed to six months which is commonplace with Leased Lines. Some businesses could make huge savings and our solution could pay for itself within three years of installation,” added Mr. Edwards.
