Telecoms expert welcomes broadband roll-out
A leading telecommunications provider has welcomed the decision to increase the levels of investment in super-fast broadband across the North West.Rob Scott, Managing Director of Barrowford-based Denwa Communications, says the news that BT will be expanding its high-speed fibre broadband in the region is ‘great for business’.
More than 1.68 million households and businesses across the region can now get fibre broadband, and that figure is expected to reach more than 2.34 million by the end of spring next year.
However, Rob insists even more needs to be done to ensure businesses are being given ‘proper priority’.Rob said: “In today’s digital age the internet is absolutely essential to business so fast, reliable connections are increasingly important.
“It speeds up the way that firms do business, making them more competitive, and by accessing cloud computing services they can also become more cost effective too.“Whilst this latest investment is a step in the right direction, I still believe there must be more governance on BT’s roll out to ensure businesses are given the same priority as residential users.” Launched in 2006, Denwa Communications is one of the fast-growing telecoms suppliers in the UK, enjoying double-digit growth figures in each year since its formation.
