Taylor Patterson held its 8th Annual charity quiz night raising £2,550 for The East Lancashire Hospice.

The quiz night was held at the Masonic Hall in Preston and was attended by over 140 members of the local business community. On the night attendees were tested on a variety of subjects, including general knowledge, current affairs, Shakespeare and dancing.

The evening also included, for the first time, a silent auction where the prizes included a signed Manchester United football, a Blackburn Rovers shirt and a Golf Day at Mottram Hall.

Financial Adviser at Taylor Patterson, Stephen Jackson, reclaimed the winners trophy with his team “Where’s Neil?” having won the title previously in 2012.

Director Keith Pressler, who led Taylor Patterson’s Charity Committee in organising this years event said, “We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended. The night was great fun, with lots of healthy competition. We are delighted to have raised so much money for The East Lancashire Hospice and this wouldn’t have been possible without all the support we received from local businesses”.

Kim Hall from The East Lancashire Hospice, who attended and spoke on the night, commented “The generosity and support of companies like Taylor Patterson and everyone who attended this event helps The East Lancashire Hospice continue to provide specialist, supportive and end of life care for people and their families in the local area. We rely on charitable donations to help us raise the £3m needed to run the hospice each year, so are delighted that Taylor Patterson chose us as their 2014 charity of the year”. The Taylor Patterson Charity Committee has a final few events planned before the end of the year to add to the current fundraising total of £5,500.
