Swansway Motor Group expands into Oldham

North-West based Smyth brothers, Peter, John and David, Directors of Swansway Motor Group, have completed the acquisition of Oldham Volkswagen, which is a key location for new, used and Volkswagen Motability cars in the area.

The addition of the Oldham retailer will take Swansway's headcount to over 1100, with Blackpool based Gary Wood, moving from the multi-award winning Wrexham VW retailer as Brand Manager, to lead the transition and ongoing development of this important location.

Swansway Motor Group was founded by the brothers’ father, Chairman Michael Smyth in 2003. He already had over 35 years in the motor trade and was joined by his three Bolton-born sons, all of whom are motor industry careerists. Swansway has grown and thrived in the intervening years with Peter, John and David sharing their father’s ethos of delighting customers and meticulous attention to detail.
