Success for Blackburn housing development

Local homebuilder Miller Homes is today announcing a successful feat at its Blackburn-based development, Millrose, which is now over 75 per cent sold.

The development has now sold over three quarters of its three and four bedroom homes since launching in late 2019. Millrose is ideally located for those who travel throughout the North West of England, situated between Preston and Burnley and around a 10 minute drive from the M6 and M65.

Of the purchasers, 60 per cent were first-time buyers and 32 per cent used the Help to Buy scheme, suggesting that the homes at Millrose are ideal for those wanting to venture on the property ladder for the first time.

Clare Noakes, sales director of Miller Homes North West believes this is a sign of rejuvenation in the property market: “Despite the pandemic last year, there has clearly been a good recovery. It’s very promising to see such a success from Millrose and this is very telling of the attitudes amongst buyers in the North West. 

“I’d like to think that this is representative of the property market as a whole at the moment. Various incentives such as the extended Stamp Duty holiday and the new Help to Buy: Equity Loan scheme mean that buying a home is very attractive this year.

Alongside bringing exciting new homes to the region, Miller Homes has contributed £700,000 towards affordable housing and £200,000 to local sports facilities. This is alongside providing a new car park for Lammack Church, working with local primary schools and supporting Blackburn-based charity Aid 4 Ummah.
