Fylde Council is delighted to announce that St Annes and Lytham have secured first and second positions respectively for town centre footfall across the North West region during April 2025, according to data provided by Place Informatics.
This exceptional performance demonstrates the continued vitality of Fylde’s town centres and reflects the sustained commitment of local residents, businesses and visitors to supporting our high street economy.
The achievement underscores the effectiveness of the Council’s strategic investments in town centre development and its support for events and community initiatives.
Coun Karen Buckley, leader of Fylde Council, said: “We are thrilled to see St Annes and Lytham leading the region in footfall. This success reflects the strength and resilience of our communities and validates our strategic approach to economic development.
"It also aligns closely with the priorities set out in our Corporate Plan 2024-2028, particularly our commitment to creating vibrant places that support economic growth and enhance community wellbeing.
“This achievement provides clear evidence that our investment strategies are delivering measurable benefits for Fylde residents and businesses."
Place Informatics monitors footfall data across St Annes, Lytham and Kirkham town centres. Kirkham’s footfall continues to increase month-on-month following extensive improvement works in previous years.
The council remains committed to supporting Kirkham’s continued development through targeted regeneration programmes and community investment strategies.
Monthly footfall statistics are published upon receipt of data and are accessible to residents and stakeholders through the council's economic development portal.
