SpudBros and European foodtech company Taster are extending their partnership with EG On The Move to expand SpudBros Express across 30 petrol forecourts over the next three years.
After two successful pilot openings in Blackburn and Wakefield, followed by launches in London, Liverpool, Sheffield and Portsmouth, the social media sensations say they will be looking to open 15 this year alone.
SpudBros' journey began in 1955 when a hot potato cart first opened on Preston's Flag Market.
Decades later, Jacob and Harley Nelson have transformed the family firm into one of the UK's most recognisable food brands.
With more than 4.8 million TikTok followers, 186 million likes, 1.2 million YouTube subscribers and 1 million Instagram followers, the SpudBros have captured hearts well beyond the North West.
And following a sponsorship deal with the Championship club, the SpudBros logo sat proudly on the shirts of Preston North End players.
Bertrand Peyrat, chief executive of Taster, said: “Our ambition at Taster is simple: to build food brands people genuinely love and make them accessible wherever they are.
“SpudBros Express is a perfect example: a great product, a strong identity, and now a format that fits seamlessly into everyday life. The early results in Blackburn and Wakefield speak for themselves.
“With EG On The Move, we have the right strategic foodservice partner to scale this experience across the UK and reach customers in moments that really matter to them.”
Jacob Nelson, co-founder of SpudBros, said: “Partnering with EG On The Move through Taster is a huge moment for us.
“Our goal has always been to take SpudBros beyond the queues around the block and into people’s everyday lives.
“The forecourt format does exactly that, putting the world-famous spuds within reach of millions of customers who are already on the road. I’m confident this is just the beginning of something much bigger.”
Zuber Issa, EG On The Move chief executive, said: “We are delighted to expand our partnership with Taster and bring SpudBros Express to more of our roadside locations.
“The concept brings something fresh and exciting to our forecourts, combining quality, speed and strong customer appeal.
“The results from Blackburn and Wakefield are encouraging, and we look forward to making this offering available to customers across our wider network.”
Across the UK, EG On The Move owns and operates more than 190 petrol forecourts and convenience stores, along with over 200 branded foodservice concessions.
Taster is a European company building and scaling creator-led food brands designed for delivery, takeaway, and high-efficiency physical formats.
Jacob and Harley were named in our Sub36 ‘future leaders generation’ feature in the September/October 2025 edition of Lancashire Business View.
