Speakers confirmed for International Trade Conference & Exhibition

The government sees export as a major driver for economic growth in the UK and has set an ambitious target to export £1tr of goods and services by 2020.

UK exporters have continued to expand into other markets and since 2010 the volume of goods exported to non-EU countries has increased by 18.7 per cent. The weakening markets in Europe and USA means British firms must be able to connect with the high growth markets in Asia, South America and Africa and the Export Drive 2020 should provide businesses with the tools to be able to do this.

The high growth markets the government are targeting all expect significant import growth between 2015 and 2020. This growth is in part due to the rise of the global middle class.

The OECD forecasts that this will double to almost five billion by 2030, presenting a great opportunity for UK firms to export the types of products and services at which we excel.

This is why the Chamber has organised an International Trade Conference & Exhibition to make our district’s businesses aware of the opportunities open to them internationally.

The event is taking place on Thursday 8th October at Lancaster House Hotel: the conference is for all businesses & sectors who want to learn about new & existing markets and find new opportunities do business.

Whether you are a manufacturer, distributor, retailer, or service provider there are opportunities to gain new business through exporting. It is also a chance for businesses and organisations to network, gain useful knowledge, advice and a chance to share experiences and best practice. Speakers confirmed at the event include UK Trade & Investment, UK India Business Council & Lancaster University’s – China Catalyst programme to name a few. They will be offering their advice and handy tips on how to navigate the world of international trade.
