Shiraz completes apprenticeship with Seriun

Shiraz Javed has successfully completed his IT apprenticeship and is now a permanent service desk engineer at Seriun.

Apprenticeships have been part of our recruitment strategy at Seriun for many years now. We believe in developing young talent to be the best they can be and provide opportunities for them to grow and develop their skills and passions in the industry.

Since the pandemic hit, we have enjoyed a good period of growth and expanded our customer base. As a result, we have recruited seven new members of our team; three of which were apprentices. Also, during that time, we have had three apprentices graduate and become fully fledged permanent members of our service desk, including Shiraz Javed.

Shiraz joined our team after he completed his BTEC Level 3 IT at Nelson & Colne College. He then began his apprenticeship in 2021, again with Nelson and Colne College. After successfully completing his studies in September this year, Shiraz naturally progressed to service desk engineer in a full-time permanent capacity.

Whilst working at Seriun, Shiraz has achieved a plethora of Microsoft exams including Networking Fundamentals and Mobility and Device Fundamentals. These certifications demonstrate Shiraz’ range of knowledge and skills across Microsoft applications. He has also completed MTA Software Development and AZ-900 Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, which has given him an introduction into cloud services.

As Shiraz continues to grow within his career, he plans to attain further Microsoft qualifications as well as the 3CX collection of certifications. He is also very passionate about Networking and wants to grow his skills and experience in the area.

Shiraz said: “I am excited to be continuing my career with Seriun. Completing my apprenticeship has given me a great start and introduction into the IT industry. I look forward to seeing what’s in store for me next.”
