Seriun have been crowned the best Customer Service Business in the county at the Red Rose Awards 2019.

The Red Rose Awards, organised by Lancashire Business View magazine, are held in Blackpool’s iconic Winter Gardens, and honour the best, most inspirational and innovative businesses in Lancashire.

To earn the title of best customer service business in Lancashire, Seriun had to outshine some very tough competition – firstly being shortlisted out of hundreds of nominations across the county, then impressing a panel of judges with a presentation and rigorous interview.

Winners are kept top secret until the prize-giving ceremony – a night of glitz and glamour where the achievements of Lancashire businesses are celebrated. After Seriun’s name was announced, they made their way down the runway to the stage to collect their trophy, which was specially crafted by Pendle Engineering.

Service Desk Manager at Seriun Matthew Whittaker said: “Achieving this accolade means a great deal to our team, and we are all chuffed to bits. It’s a well-deserved recognition, particularly for our Service Desk team, who I feel really do go the extra mile. We consider ourselves to be a customer service company who do technical things, and keeping our customers happy is crucial to the success of Seriun.”

Event founder Richard Slater, also publisher of Lancashire Business View magazine, said: “Seriun should be exceptionally proud of their achievement - Lancashire is a booming county home to thousands of headline-grabbing businesses with excellent stories, and the Red Rose Awards is the biggest event celebrating their achievements. To stand out in a crowded field is a true testament of ingenuity, hard work and doing things the right way.”

The event had an additional purpose which was to promote the ‘Buy it in Lancashire – bring back a billion’ campaign – an initiative led by Lancashire Business View Magazine. The campaign aims to boost the Lancashire economy by a billion pounds – resulting from Lancashire-based businesses committing to buy a bit more in the county when and where possible.

Richard commented: “The ultimate aim of the Red Rose Awards is to prove that you can - and should - buy everything you need right here in Lancashire. And anyone who was there on the night, or who has read through the list of winners and finalists, will be convinced this is true.”

Seriun are proud and active supporters of the ‘Buy it in Lancashire’ campaign and have pledged to divert at least 5% of their spend back into the county.

The Red Rose Awards also supported this year’s charity partner ‘Cash for Kids’ and funds were raised throughout the evening to support their work in Lancashire with disabled and disadvantaged children.

BBC Radio Lancashire and North West Tonight host Graham Liver compered the evening, with entertainment from Gravity Live, DFC Lancashire and Funtime Frankies. The headline sponsors for the event were Forbes Solicitors and Barclays, with the official judging partner being Blackpool and The Fylde College.
