Ruth Connor to speak at growth conference
The recently appointed chief executive of the newly formed Marketing Lancashire organisation Ruth Connor will be among the keynote speakers at the Downtown Lancashire in Business Lancashire Growth Conference on Thursday, October 24.The half day event, held at Brockholes Nature Reserve Conference Centre, will focus on how the county’s businesses can grow and the future development of Lancashire as a great destination to do business, visit and live.
Subject matter includes panel discussions highlighting the Lancashire County Council Boost initiative, how to “Sell more Stuff”, analysing the current opportunities in place in accessing business finance, and more.Other speakers include Ajaz Ahmed, best known as the founder of Freeserve, once the UK’s largest internet service provider. Freeserve floated at a market cap of £1.5bn, entered the FTSE 100 in March 2000 with a market cap of £9bn and was later sold by Dixons to Wanadoo (a France Telecom company) for £1.6bn in 2001.
