Roaming Roosters, proud supporters of local, British produce, is seeking vegetable growers in the area to supply its Higham-based farm shop.
The company has created ‘The Veg Market’ as a way to engage with local producers who grow vegetables for their own consumption but may wish to exchange them for tokens to spend in the Roosters’ farms shop.George Cropper, farm shop manager at Roaming Roosters, said: “We’re passionate about local produce, so we thought it’d be great to work alongside local veg growers, giving them the chance to see their goods sold in our farm shop, and in return, they get to eat our locally reared meat.”
The company currently use a range of local producers in their farm shop, such as Cordey’s, Farmhouse Biscuits and Dewlay Cheesemakers. The additional vegetable produce will enhance their offering to customers, whilst celebrating local producers and all that they have to offer. Anyone wishing to exchange their spare veg with Roaming Roosters can apply at roamingroosters.co.uk/vegmarket. Once the swap instructions have been confirmed, producers are able to exchange their vegetables for tokens, as and when they desire.
