A Lancashire restaurant shows a fine example of pivoting, in response to this past year, by launching a completely new aspect of their business. Award-winning chef and restaurateur Breda Murphy, launched last week, her restaurant-quality frozen ready meal delivery service nationwide. Already there has been an outstanding response, they have even noticed people ordering boxes not only for themselves but as a gift for others. See www.bredamurphy.co.uk

Last Sunday the new concept was covered by Jay Rayner in the Guardian's, Sunday Observer Magazine 'News Bites' feature - not bad for your first week! Jay Rayner commented; "These are not meal kits but freezer stackers.” The range was created to be high quality, easy and handy to pull out for any occasion.

A champion of British and Irish cuisine, Breda’s professional pedigree assures the customer of exquisite quality and flavour. Trained by Darina Allen at Cork’s Ballymaloe Cookery School followed by spells at both Kensington Place and Sally Clarke’s in London, she then headed north to become head chef at the prestigious Inn at Whitewell often frequented by royalty, dignitaries and stars of screen and stage. Breda then established her renowned Ribble Valley restaurant and deli in 2006 which has won multiple awards and entry into the Michelin, Hardens and Good Food Guide.

Customers will be able to choose any combination of signature dishes, tempting classics, cakes, desserts and seasonal favourites from her website for delivery across the country. Whether feeding the family, stocking the freezer or entertaining at home, restaurant-quality meals at home can be summoned with a few clicks of a finger. Customers have the unique option to select single portion boxes (£55) not many others offer this, and double portion boxes (£100), or mixed size potions (£120), making these an easy alternative to your weekly shop. Each dish will remain perfectly fresh in the freezer for over three months, giving customers extra flexibility and reducing unnecessary food waste. Soon to come online are the Breda Gift Boxes, brimming with British/Irish goodies, such as exquisite candles and chocolates.

Breda’s husband and four children are the mainstay of her life and as a busy mother she really does know the value of having delicious and nutritious meals in the freezer, ready to serve up quickly and without fuss. The concept of turning her delicious restaurant dishes into frozen meals delivered directly to the customer was conceived during the turmoil of the pandemic.

In her own words, “My ethos has always been to create tasty, wholesome, loving food with a twist made from the finest and responsibly sourced ingredients. I now have the pleasure of sending my restaurant to your home. I hope you enjoy!”
