Red Rose Awards judging transfers to Burnley

The rigorous judging process for the Red Rose Awards 2023 will take place at the newly refurbished executive suites of Burnley FC’s Turf Moor.

The in-person judging, which allows shortlisted companies to meet face-to-face to face with a hand-picked panel of expert judges, has underpinned the growth of the Red Rose Awards, the county’s biggest celebration of business.

The judging process sees the shortlisted companies - typically more than 100 - given the opportunity to present its best case to an independent panel of industry leaders - including business owners, influential policy-makers and previous Red Rose Awards winners.

The executive facilities at Turf Moor, which have recently been refurbished and upgraded, will allow for both in-person presentations as well as remote presentations where required.

The awards programme will be officially launched in October, with the closing date for nominations in December.

Shortlisted companies will be invited to an exclusive workshop, hosted by three-time winner Sales Geek, in which they will learn how best to impress the judging panel.

The judging will then take place across two days, on February 8 and February 9, before the winners are announced to an audience of more than 1,000 at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens on March 9.

Rachael Norris, who manages the Red Rose Awards on behalf of Lancashire Business View, said: “We are delighted to be taking our judging days to Turf Moor, especially following the recent refurbishment. Having attended various business events there in the past, we know that it is a top-quality venue that will allow us to deliver a top-quality process.

“In-person judging is very important to us, we believe it’s the best way for our judges to fully understand the businesses they are assessing and gives the shortlisted companies the best opportunity to tell their story.

“Turf Moor is a fantastic setting for this to take place and its high-tech facilities will also enable us to offer companies the opportunity to present face-to-face from a remote location.”

Lucy Moss, events manager at Burnley FC, said: “We are delighted to partner with Lancashire Business View to host the Red Rose Awards judging days for 2023. It is a fitting use for our newly refurbished executive suites, and we look forward to welcoming our finalists.”
