PWA Planning has recruited Matthew Wyatt as a senior planner and Joe Davis as a graduate planner.

The appointments take the headcount at Preston-based planning consultancy to 14.

Matthew, a chartered town planner, joins PWA Planning after 10 years with Lancaster-based planning consultancy JWPC where he worked on a wide variety of projects across the North West.

Joe, a geography graduate, has embarked on a career in planning after a two-years working for accountancy giant KPMG in Manchester, as well as a spell working as an English tutor in China.

Paul Walton, director of PWA Planning, said: “Matthew has been in the planning industry for over 10 years so brings bags of experience. Joe is another talented individual who can bring a fresh perspective to the business and build a great career with us.”

This summer, the company also recruited former Preston City Council director of development Alison Gough as business development manager.

Alison joins us after nine years with the council, a time in which she oversaw large-scale planning applications, including the £50m Markets Quarter and UCLan’s £200m masterplan and public realm works. PWA Planning was founded by Paul Walton in 2013. Major clients include international forecourts operator EG Group, energy storage business Harmony Energy, housebuilders including Mulbury, Anwyl Homes, Altin Homes, McDermott Homes and Story Homes, as well as various NHS Trusts.
