Story Homes has secured outline planning permission for up to 125 new homes in Barton, near Preston.
The proposed development will provide a range of homes ranging from one to five-bedroom homes, up to 35 per cent of the homes are likely to be affordable.
As part of the development, Story Homes will contribute around £900,000 in community infrastructure levy payments; £157,542 towards improvements to the A6; upgrade works to two bus stops; £6,000 towards implementation of a travel plan and around £950,000 towards provision of primary and secondary school places.
Martin Nugent, land manager at Story Homes, said: “We have worked closely with Preston City Council officers to create a scheme that will deliver benefits for Barton and the wider area as well as be sympathetic to the surrounding landscape.
"The homes will help boost the supply of much needed new homes and make a contribution towards the supply of affordable housing in Preston.
“Our proposals will also provide local contractors with opportunities for work, and there will be knock on benefits for local supply chains and other local businesses and services.”
