PM+M, the Blackburn-based accountancy, business advisory and wealth management firm, has successfully raised over £650 for East Lancashire Hospice in the first six weeks of the Corporate Challenge.

With East Lancashire Hospice close to the heart of many PM+M team members, the firm made the decision to get involved with this year’s Corporate Challenge to raise awareness of the incredible work they do, and fundraise to allow the Hospice to continue delivering outstanding care and compassion to patients and their families.

As part of the Corporate Challenge, PM+M is currently battling it out with 25 other local businesses to see who can raise the most money for the Hospice in the most inventive ways.

Having completed a number of fundraising activities, including charity runs, a chocolate hamper raffle and a football shirt day in the office, PM+M’s total amount raised places the firm second on the Corporate Challenge leaderboard. Currently in the process of planning other fundraising initiatives, PM+M hope to come out on top by the end of the Challenge, which runs for six months.

PM+M’s Corporate Challenge leader, Julie Mason, commented, “We are so pleased to be involved in this year’s Corporate Challenge.

“Whilst we are hoping to organise a few fundraisers ourselves, we recently took part in one of the Hospice organised events, the Bubble Rush. It was a great day for all involved, and some members of our team were even able to bring their families along.

Julie added: “So many people are touched by the fantastic support that the Hospice provides to patients and their families, and the funds raised by local businesses as part of the Corporate Challenge will allow the Hospice team to continue their great work”.

“My step-grandmother was recently cared for in a Hospice in Blackpool, and whilst it wasn’t East Lancashire Hospice, I witnessed first-hand the incredible strength and compassion of the nurses looking after her. Taking part in the Challenge will allow us to give back to the Hospice and allow them to continue doing such a rewarding and important job.”

Each of PM+M’s three offices is supporting their local hospice corporate challenge and competition between the Burnley Pendleside Hospice team, the Blackburn East Lancashire Hospice Team and the Bury Hospice team is fierce.

The firm will continue to support all three Hospices to ensure that the incredible work they do can continue. To donate to East Lancashire Hospice, please visit PM+M’s JustGiving page.
