Following the completion and full occupancy of the first phase of development at Pendle Court, Pendle Projects has begun work on Phase II.

Pendle Projects has acquired the remainder of the former Reedyford Mills site and commenced work on two new schemes, a children’s day nursery for Lomeshaye Day Nursery and engineering facility for Sugden Limited which will relocate from Barrowford.

The nursery will provide 14,500 sq ft of accommodation within a secure site with external areas for children with the Sugden facility comprising 35,000 sq ft.

Chris Baldwin, managing director of Sugden, said the company is likely to create 10 jobs as the move will allow for expansion.

The final area of land will be developed into a small business unit scheme named Holt Court and will provide 11 units from 750 sq ft. These units are scheduled to be completed in September 2019 and already there is strong interest to report from both local occupiers and investors, with several units already reserved.

Mark Taylforth of Pendle Projects said: “We always thought this site was very well situated for an employment led development, being within a few second’s drive of J13 of the M65 Motorway.

"Phase I proved to be a great success and we could have filled it twice over. So we acquired the rest of the site for similar further development and 2 major customers quickly came to us and agreed terms. Their units are now under construction and due to be completed in Spring 2019." Trevor Dawson’s Burnley office has advised Pendle Projects on the development. Director Michael Cavannagh added: "There has been a lack of speculative development along the M65 for sometime and the success of Pendle Court illustrates the pent up demand from local occupiers for good quality accommodation along the motorway corridor”.
