Pet food firm eyes expansion

Blackburn’s Pets Choice is to move to new premises at Whitebirk with plans of expansion and job creation.
Pets Choice, the Blackburn-based pet food firm, is looking to expand into new premises as it bids for further growth.

The company, which employs 140, has submitted plans to move to Whitebirk Industrial Estate, where it will build upon the 12,750 sq m premises to accommodate as many as 50 additional employees.

Currently operating out of Greenbank House in Gladstone Street, Little Harwood, Pet’s Choice has applied for planning permission to partially demolish an existing building in Lower Philips Road, Whitebirk, and build a new two-storey office block and single-storey factory.

Part of the application to Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council states that the move will secure existing jobs and create opportunity to expand. Pet’s Choice manufactures a range of pet food for dogs, cats, rabbits and fish, produces Webbox products including Cats Delight sticks and produces hypo-allergenic food and treats for dogs as The Original Davies.
