Pennine Events delivers six large events in six weeks

Pennine Events, the North’s leading provider of complex mass participation sports and leisure events has delivered the busiest month in its history following the completion of six large events in as many weeks.

They were the Harrogate Big Bike Bash, Great Nott’s Bike Ride, The Liverpool Chester Liverpool Bike Ride, the South Ribble Sports Awards, the Great Manchester Cycle and the London to Brighton Night Ride.

The business, which is based in Bamber Bridge and was founded in 2002, has an enviable reputation for delivering successful mass participation events which includes the event management of the Tour de France Grand Depart in North Yorkshire in 2014; this reputation has led to an unprecedented growth in interest from local authorities, companies and charities to use their services.

Commenting on the delivery of the consecutive events, Mark Sandamas, managing director, said: “Delivering a large participation event takes a great deal of planning and effort, working with many partner organisations but delivering six events over five weekends, which attracted over 30,000 individuals in total really did test our team’s collective work, skill and planning to the limits.

“We’re delighted that all events were delivered successfully, and whilst our focus was very much on these over an intense time period, the team were also working on other projects including a number of cycling roadshows across West Yorkshire on behalf of go:cycling. It’s an incredible achievement and testament to the commitment of a very hard working team, and we look forward to delivering many more successful events across the region throughout the year.”

As well as mass participation events, the business delivers a number of other services such as awards, conferences and exhibitions, as well as working on a consultative basis to support other event organisers advising on matters such as health and safety, specialist staffing, compliance and route planning and risk assessment. Its forthcoming Great Northern Events Expo, which will be held in both the North West and Yorkshire in the coming months is the only events expo in the North of England, and gives exhibitors and event organisers direct access to buyers and key stakeholders in the events industry.
