Pendle-based apprenticeship and training specialist, TrainingStation is celebrating a hat trick of successes so far in 2013.

TrainingStation marks its third anniversary with a milestone 350 learners who have gained qualifications with them since they started the business in March 2010.

Prior successes this year include highly commended recognition at the E3 Business awards for enterprise, education and employment and shortlisted for small business of the year at the prestigious Red Rose Awards.

TrainingStation directors Andrea Fielding and Lisa Whiteoak are delighted with what 2013 has brought them so far and have their sights set on further growth and development in coming months.

Lisa said: “When we started out our full focus was to develop the skills of existing staff within Daisy Communications where we had 30 learners.

“Three years on we work with some 30 businesses county-wide and beyond, have a team of 10 trainers and assessors, and have passed the 350 learner milestone. We are passionate about the delivery of continual career development for individuals as well as apprenticeship opportunities for young people.”

Andrea added: “We get a great feeling when witnessing the development of our learners; many of who have gone on to gain managerial roles and really making a difference to the business in which they work.

“I started out my career as an apprentice when I realised college wasn’t for me and the potential to earn whilst learning proved very appealing. I worked my way up to management level in a previous role and am now director of my own company; proof that it certainly worked for me.

This year TrainingStation is planning to build further links with local school leavers so they can match young people to their perfect apprenticeship and likewise, provide local businesses with the right staff in a cost effective way.

Lisa said: “It isn’t just about the young people; employers can really benefit from an apprenticeship and there is funding and support to help them. In times where funds are tight an apprentice can be the perfect way to develop and grow the business.” TrainingStation works with a range of businesses across Lancashire and the North West delivering all levels of training and qualifications ranging from administration and customer service through to leadership and management.
