The team behind Pendle’s Employer of the Year are celebrating being named as finalists in a prestigious national industry awards ceremony.TrainingStation, who were named Employer of the Year at last year’s Pendle Business Awards, are one of four finalists in the Training Provider Sub Contractor of the Year category at the annual Apprenticeships 4 England Training Provider and Apprentice Employer Awards.
The Apprenticeships 4 England awards reward training providers who work in collaboration with employers to meet their business needs, help apprentices to achieve their potential and address the training needs of the wider community.“We have been taken aback by the huge increase in award submissions this year,” said Lindsay McCurdy from Apprenticeships 4 England. “All of the entries were of an extremely high quality and with such a large number of entries, the competition is fierce, making the achievement of all the finalists more impressive.”
TrainingStation was established five years ago by director Lisa Whiteoak and since then has helped to double the number of young people in Pendle accessing apprenticeships.“We are committed to working with local schools, employers and politicians to promote the benefits of apprenticeships,” said Lisa. “Our dedicated training assessors work closely with both young people and businesses across Pendle to ensure they get the best out of apprenticeships. The continual support given to apprentices by our training assessors helps them to succeed in their qualification and career and this has been a key factor in us being shortlisted for this national award.” TrainingStation specialises in apprenticeships in business administration, customer service, management, retail, travel, sales and team leading. It works with a wide range of local employers, including Daisy Plc and Althams Travel, to provide apprenticeships with excellent earning and promotion opportunities.
