PCB designer recognised by electronics industry with CID qualification

Adam Barcroft of Quadra Solutions, based in Accrington, has reason to celebrate after gaining the Certified Interconnect Designer (CID) qualification widely recognised by the electronics industry.

Quadra Solutions houses one of the largest printed circuit board (PCB) design bureaus in the UK supporting local, national and international companies with a vast range of PCB design services.

The intensive CID programme which demonstrates a real commitment to excellence is run by the IPC, the global trade association for PCB design professionals.

In order to meet demand, Quadra has recently grown its PCB design team with additional designers and dedicated account management. In addition to the new recruits, Quadra has also invested by putting their designers through the CID programme.

Adam said: “I wanted to become CID certified to enhance my skills and knowledge which is important in an industry that is constantly changing with technology, and I’m very pleased Quadra have supported me with this. The qualification has given me a greater understanding of the manufacturing, assembly and testing processes and why certain aspects of a design have to be performed in a specific way.” Stephen Dobson, managing director at Quadra Solutions added: “Our PCB design bureau is a large part of our business at Quadra and we therefore see it vital to continually invest in our designers.
