Optimum Shortlisted for Red Rose Growing Business Award

Specialist lens manufacturer Optimum Coatings is celebrating after being shortlisted for the Growing Business Award at this year’s Red Rose Awards.

Managing director, Paul Bailey, said: “Optimum has had a phenomenal 2015 with our sales turnover up by 79 per cent. We’ve also recently invested £450,000 in a new production line facility that will increase the company’s production capacity and create new jobs in the laboratory. So it seemed like the perfect time to submit an entry for the Growing Business Award.

“Some of the businesses that have also been shortlisted are considerably larger than Optimum, so being recognised by the Red Rose Awards is a particular honour and the entire team is very excited.

“The business was close to receivership in 2010 when I took over as managing director, but everyone has worked unbelievably hard transform the business. I’m proud to say we are now one of the fastest growing independent optical laboratories in the UK.” Optimum Coatings Ltd was founded in 2001 and is based at the White Lund Estate in Morecambe, Lancashire. The company is a leading manufacturer of ophthalmic lenses and provider of specialist coating services. Its laboratory uses ‘state of the art’ cleaning and lacquering technology together with some of the most advanced processes and equipment available today.
