One Stop Hire acquires Lord Tool Hire

Chorley-based One Stop Hire has expanded into a new region with the acquisition of Lord Tool Hire of Newcastle.

The deal includes eight depots in the North East, taking One Stop Hire's existing network to 25. It operates existing locations in the North West, Yorkshire and the Midlands.

Lord Hire celebrated its 50th anniversary in June 2021 and in 2018 was voted “Passionate Hirer of the Year” at the EHN awards show, an award that One Stop Hire won in 2020.

Steve Hitchen, managing director of One Stop Hire said: "We have seen growing enquiries from our clients who are now winning work in the North East and when the opportunity of Lord Tool Hire came along, it made perfect sense.

"The fact that Lord Tool Hire was a long-established name and a family-owned business was another big factor, as it was apparent that we share the same values. We look forward to continuing the 50-year journey of Lord Tool Hire and expanding its services to align with our own."

The owners of Lord Tool Hire were advised by MHA Tait Walker and Hay & Kilner LLP. One Stop Hire were advised by Fairhurst accountants and Lockett Loveday McMahon solicitors.
