Lancashire-based innovation consultancy Northern Reach has appointed Martin Peters as its first executive-level hire, taking on the role of Operations Director.
Martin joins Northern Reach following his leadership role at Fuuse, one of the UK’s fastest-growing EV charging software companies, where he played a key part in building the company’s financial and operational foundations during a period of rapid expansion and multi-million-pound investment.
At Northern Reach, Martin will be responsible for strengthening internal operations, embedding scalable processes, and supporting the company’s next phase of growth as it expands delivery across Lancashire and Cumbria.
Founded in 2019, Northern Reach has quickly established itself as a leading force in building tech and innovation ecosystems, working with partners including Lancashire County Council, district authorities, Plexal, and Barclays Eagle Labs. The company currently manages projects such as the Lancashire Digital Hub and the Electech Innovation Cluster, engaging hundreds of innovative SMEs each year.
Daniel Knowles, founder of Northern Reach, said: “This is a pivotal moment for Northern Reach. As our first executive appointment, Martin brings both the discipline and the experience of guiding a fast-growing scaleup through complex operational challenges. His expertise will give us the resilience and structure we need as we build towards the next stage of our journey.”
Martin Peters, operations director, Northern Reach, added: “I’m excited to be joining Northern Reach at such an important point in its growth. The business has carved out a unique role in Lancashire’s innovation ecosystem, and I look forward to helping build the systems, culture, and processes that will allow it to scale sustainably while staying true to its mission.”
The appointment marks a significant step for Northern Reach as it continues to evolve from a founder-led consultancy into a scalable innovation business, building the foundations to support its ambition of becoming a £1m+ turnover organisation rooted in the North West.
