Nomination submitted by happy client

Unbeknown to husband-and-wife directors Jason and Amrita Govindji-Bruce, NORI HR were nominated for family business of the year by a client, based on the support and enthusiasm they had shown to the clients own family business.

Following a nomination review by FBU expert panel, NORI HR were shortlisted alongside 20 other family businesses from a wide range of sectors. Judges will be looking to identify innovation, entrepreneurship, spirit, professionalism, governance and the future security of the family business.

Amrita Govindji-Bruce was delighted to receive the news and said “To be nominated for a prestigious award by a client is always a great honour”.

“Within HR and Employment Law, we work with our clients to support them not only with day-to-day employee matters, but critically on the formal agreements and structure of a business’s senior management teams”.

“When it comes to a family business, it is easy to make decisions based on emotions, relationships or pressure from other family members. Our family business clients have recognised and appreciate the support we give, comes first hand from a husband and wife owned business that have themselves have had to hold honest and sensitive conversations around Shareholder Agreements and structure”.

NORI HR Expansion Plans for 2021

This latest award shortlisting comes off the back of a successful 12 months of recognition for NORI HR & Employment Law.In 2020, they won the SME ‘Most Trusted HR & Employment Law Lancashire’ award, a Hyndburn Business Award and finalists in the Sub36 Professional and Sub36 New Business Award categories .

Despite the difficulties of the pandemic, in the last 4 months NORI HR have expanded, adding 4 new members of staff and moved into a new dedicated office providing 24/7/365 days a year HR and Employment Law support.

Over the next 6 months, plans have been approved to add up to 30 new employees, as the business looks to support 16-24 year olds on the ladder of employment through the Governments Kickstarter scheme.

Amrita added “We look forward to compiling our detailed submission to the judges”.

“We are here to champion family business ownership, along with our peers. It is great to be associated with the FBU and we look forward to reading about other family businesses and the journey they are on”.
