Representatives from Accrington-based training provider North Lancs Training Group (NLTG) and Hyndburn-based international high tech software solutions consultancy, Sundown Solutions, recently visited Year 10 students at St Christopher’s C of E High School to raise awareness of the opportunities and Apprenticeships available to them.

Heath Groves, CEO of Sundown Solutions, and Ali Shah, Careers Adviser at NLTG, presented to over 200 enthusiastic pupils at the Accrington-based school, with NLTG and Sundown working in partnership to employ the borough’s future talent.

A number of exciting opportunities are available through the collaboration, with Sundown providing a constant stream of training to continuously enhance skills and development for their Apprentices.

Mr Shah, said: “This was a great opportunity to speak to over 200 young people, most of which were extremely interested in the Apprenticeship opportunities available between NLTG and Sundown.

“We help young people from the ages of 16+, and all of our Apprenticeships are also full time jobs, as opposed to 12 month placements. The big benefit to these young people is that they will be working full-time, while gaining a qualification and getting paid for it at the same time. Earn while you learn is a great incentive.”

Mr Groves, commented: “It’s been a fantastic visit, absolutely brilliant. It was great to see the next, future set of minds and hopefully the next future set of Sundowners.

“They are absolutely vital to what we do, we need a constant supply of new, fresh talent, not just to fill the working spaces which we have, but to also tell us how the next generation operates in cyber space.”

Mr Groves told students: “I need to convince people like you to come and work for people like me, and the reality is we do that through our Apprenticeship schemes.

“I always make our people two very distinct promises. The first one is we pay you considerably more than the normal average, and the second one is… age is just a number.”

More information about NLTG’s Apprenticeships can be found on their website https://www.nltg.co.uk/apprenticeship-vacancies/ or by calling their recruitment team on 01254 395355. Vacancies are available across the board in areas including Business Administration, Catering and Hospitality, Customer Service, Digital Marketing, Furniture Occupations, Digital IT Support and Retail.
