New venue launches in Whalley with weekend of free live music

alta, is the new live music and events venue in Whalley. The venue launched with a full weekend of free live music.

Unanimously the new rebrand, refurbished premises and first class music were wholeheartedly and warmly received by the thousand or so people that came through the doors over the three day launch weekend.

I'AM Gallagher, Appy Mundays, Edit presenting Defected and guest Ibiza DJs, followed by the 50th anniversary celebration of Northern Soul Russ Winstanley's Wigan Casino Roadshow with Alan King and Motown guest singer Paul Davies on Sunday, completed the stunning line-up.

alta is the reincarnation of the much loved venue Rio's (Rendezvous) nightclub in Whalley. alta now offers something for everyone, live music on a Friday, club classics and guest DJ's on a Saturday and more specialist music on a Sunday. The thread across all is quality music, great experiences and memorable nights regardless of age and at times to suit all lifestyles. Plus the added bonus they don't need to travel far afield to a city to hear top bands and acts.  

alta is under the same ownership Becky and Jonny Crompton, who met as childhood sweethearts and are married with three children. They have strong values and ambition to deliver a high quality experience in every respect. 

There will be a full programme of music acts and events every Friday, Saturday and Sunday across all music genres, with impromptu nights and private hire parties at other times of the week.
