New trucks for Fagan & Whalley pair

Here at Fagan & Whalley, valuing our people is a core element of our philosophy and, we believe, one of the reasons our team members choose to stick around!

In line with this core value, our staff remain at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we continue to make significant investments into the latest technologies and equipment, and the professional development of team members across all departments, to ensure our staff are happy in their work, and passionate about delivering an exceptional level of service as a result.

Most recently, we were excited to introduce two new vehicles to our fleet and see them enjoyed by two of our committed and long-standing team members.

“When it comes to allocating new vehicles to certain drivers, there are a number of factors we take into consideration, but the decision this time was made based on the consistently high level of performance given by both Keith and John,” says F&W transport operations director, Daniel Fagan.

“One of our long-term goals is to make continual investments in our fleet. As part of this objective, we were pleased to purchase a new Scania R450 and a Scania S450 earlier this year. Both vehicles are used for distance driving, with the R450 being our standard distance vehicle, and the S450 being a bit of an upgrade from that, offering more space and driver amenities in the cab.

“The new R450 was given to John Eland. John joined us two and a half years ago with a licence to drive a 7.5-tonne vehicle, and has worked hard in his time with us, alongside our in-house training team, to complete his Class 2 and his Class 1 training and qualifications. He’s very mindful of our commitment to safe driving, and he’s consistently achieved high scores on our safe driving telematics platform, remaining near the top of our leadertable as an A-grade driver.

“Keith Chamberlain, who now drives the new S450, has been with us over 11 years, but he also did a stint with us over 20 years ago! Keith continues to make a concerted effort to achieve good scores on our safe driving telematics platform, and he’s never reported any incidents.

“Both Keith and John are valued F&W team members. They’re punctual, professional in their work, and they remain committed to their roles. They never let us down and can be relied upon to deliver a high standard of service. Ultimately, they’re good at what they do, and they always prioritise safety when out on the roads, and we believe that’s something worth rewarding.”
