New Care appoints regional support manager

To support its growing portfolio of award winning ‘new generation’ care centres, development-led operator New Care has appointed Maria Weatherston from St Anne’s in Lancashire as regional support manager.

 In her new role, Maria will be actively involved in the setting up of new services and ensuring all systems and processes are in line with New Care’s exacting policies and procedures.  She will also be responsible for auditing homes to ensure that the highest standards are maintained by supervising, motivating and training the growing team to uphold corporate standards and ensure everyone complies with the latest legislation.

Prior to joining New Care, Maria spent many years working in area management roles across different sectors including schools, office blocks, retail premises and hotels looking after all areas of cleaning and soft services.  She has also worked for the North West Ambulance Service managing the cleaning of ambulance stations for the NHS.

In addition to her cleaning and area management expertise, she is also experienced in care as she fulfilled the important role of full time carer for her mother.

Maria is hugely excited by her appointment and aims to consistently deliver the highest standards possible across the full range of her responsibilities to ensure that residents in each one of New Care’s homes across the North West and Midlands receive the best experience possible.

She commented: “I am delighted to become New Care’s first regional support manager, a role that I feel will perfectly suit my skills and expertise. Well qualified, Maria holds an NVQ in Management, IOSH Managing Safety, BICS Licence to Practice, Train the Trainer and Level 3 Food Safety and Hygiene.  Married for 36 years with two children and five grandchildren, Maria enjoys spending time with her family when she is not working.
