More exciting additions have been announced for the newly renovated Accrington Market, including Under the Clock Café, a new bar, three street food vendors and an interactive gaming area.

The latest announcements will bring a fantastic range of food, drink and entertainment to Accrington Market, giving visitors even more reasons to visit and enjoy time with family and friends when the market reopens this November.

Among the new additions is Under the Clock Café, inspired by the local phrase 'meet under the clock', a historic meeting point for generations of local people on nearby Peel Street.

The café will celebrate Accrington's heritage while offering a welcoming space for visitors to meet, relax and enjoy freshly prepared food.

A key part of the café's offering will be its field-to-fork approach, with ingredients and products sourced from fellow market traders wherever possible, creating a micro economy within Accrington Market and supporting independent businesses.

From Smiths' fresh vegetables and Hoskin's cheeses to Bramwell's Fish & Chips and Angie's Cluckers breakfasts, fellow traders will play an important role in the café's menu.

Visitors can look forward to traditional café favourites including full breakfasts, breakfast sandwiches, homemade cakes, soups, sandwiches, jacket potatoes and seasonal lunch specials.

The café will also serve premium coffee from Exchange Coffee Company, alongside a selection of teas, cold drinks and sweet treats.

Three new street food vendors will also be joining Accrington Market, bringing a variety of freshly prepared dishes and flavours.

Family run Dough So Good will be serving traditional Neapolitan pizza and fresh pasta, including hand-stretched, stonebaked pizzas and pasta dishes. This year they are a finalist in the Pizza, Pasta & Italian Food Industry Awards.

House of Bun will bring its freshly prepared burgers to the market, with every burger made to order using carefully selected ingredients, including its own beef blend, homemade sauces and freshly prepared toppings.

The business, which was shortlisted for Food Trader of the Year at the Manchester Food and Drink Festival Awards 2024, prides itself on quality ingredients, big flavours and creating a friendly, relaxed atmosphere for customers.

Also joining the line-up is GREEK'D, bringing a taste of Greece to Accrington Market with a menu of Greek-inspired street food made using fresh ingredients and bold flavours.

Customers can look forward to dishes including Yeeros Skepasti and Gyromerida, featuring British chicken seasoned with Greek flavours, homemade flatbreads and a range of accompaniments.

The new food offering will be complemented by a new Accrington Market bar, stocking a wide range of drinks for visitors to enjoy.

Adding to the excitement will be a new interactive gaming area, bringing even more entertainment to the market.

Visitors will be able to enjoy interactive darts, virtual archery, shuffleboard and table football, offering something different for families and friends to enjoy together.

Councillor Clare Pritchard, Hyndburn Council's portfolio holder for transformation and town centres, said: "It's incredibly exciting to see so many fantastic new attractions coming to Accrington Market. From delicious food and a new bar to interactive games and a welcoming café, there's going to be so much for people to enjoy with family and friends. We can't wait to welcome everyone and see the market come to life when it reopens in November."

The latest announcements add to the growing lineup of businesses and attractions preparing to welcome visitors to the newly renovated Accrington Market, bringing together traditional market favourites, independent food traders and exciting new experiences under one roof.
