New Blackburn business has a lot of bottle

Regenerate Pennine Lancashire has helped a sauce manufacturer develop and sell an extensive range of new condiments thanks to their business start up support.

Mohammed Ali Alwan started Island Sauces after receiving great feedback on his sauce recipes.

Mohammed needed advice on marketing and information about packaging, labelling and branding. He accessed free business start-up boot camp support through Regenerate, which provided him with access expert one-to-one coaching to help him start his business.

Mohammed said: “It’s essential for businesses to come up with new ideas in the current climate so they can compete. My idea was to set up an entirely new business. The workshops helped me develop my new idea and their coaching has given me access to invaluable expertise that would have been too expensive to buy in or even find.

“I also got advice from innovation specialists who provided finance towards our website to help the business grow. All this free support has helped us to reach a wider audience and we’ve been able to protect two jobs.” Rona McFall, enterprise and employment manager at Regenerate said: “If, like Mohammed, you live in Lancashire and want to start a new business or grow an existing one, get in touch to find out about the free support on offer.”
