Law firm Napthens has appointed two experts to the growing Employment and HR team at its East Lancashire office in Blackburn.

Senior associate solicitor Emma Saunders joins the department along with solicitor Rabia Bapu.

Both Emma and Rabia will provide a wide range of legal advice to employers, in particular through Napthens’ employment law retainer service, HR3.

Emma has previously worked for Napthens, before spending time working as the in-house employment counsel for Daisy Group.

Returning to the law firm, she brings particular experience of the IT, telecoms and engineering sectors, and will advise on matters including staffing issues such as recruitment and sickness absence management, through to disciplinary and grievance matters and TUPE transfers.

Rabia joins Napthens from a boutique employment law firm in South Manchester where she dealt with a range of claims on behalf of insurers.

She also has experience of the healthcare and creative sectors, and has defended claims on behalf of NHS trusts. Oliver McCann, employment and HR partner and head of Napthens’ East Lancashire office, said: “We welcome the return of Emma and the arrival of Rabia to our team.  This latest recruitment further strengthens our service and is testament to the success of our retainer service as demand grows and we continue to attract new clients from across the region.”
