Expanding law firm Napthens is to open its second office in Cumbria as it looks to grow its market share in the region.

The firm, which opened its first Cumbrian office in Penrith in early 2013 has seen demand steadily grow for its services and will be opening its second in Kendal’s popular Bridge Mills Business Centre.

Napthens will be announcing members of the Kendal team over coming weeks, prior to the office’s opening in December.

John Whittingslow, chief executive of Napthens, said: “Our footprint in Cumbria has been growing steadily through our specialist rural team and on the back of that we have built strong, professional relationships which has led to an increase in demand for our services. We now act for many Cumbrian businesses in both the corporate and leisure sectors.

“Our presence in Cumbria over the past three years means we’ve been able to listen to and understand the needs of the market, and have provided tailored, specialist advice to local businesses and organisations.

“Cumbria provides exciting growth opportunities for Napthens and we look forward to working with the business communities in the county and growing our presence in the region.”

The firm will be looking to deliver a wide range of commercial legal services for businesses needing corporate, employment, commercial property and rural advice.

John added; “Cumbria’s economic strength is in its rural, energy and tourism sectors which is where we’ll continue to provide organisations operating in these industries with advice that will give them a competitive edge.

“We’ll be expanding the team in the coming months and adding the full range of legal services for individuals and businesses over time. The Kendal office will give us the perfect platform to build our market share as we become more integrated in the local market place.”

In leading ‘industry bible’, the Legal 500, Napthens has been praised for the quality of advice given to its clients. The Corporate and Commercial, Licensing, Commercial Litigation, Employment, Rural, Commercial Property and Construction teams have all been ranked in the guide, which surveys clients of law firms across the world to produce industry-recognised league tables.
