A new OnSide Youth Zone is set to open in Chorley thanks to advice from regional law firm Napthens.

The new £4.8m facility, on Chapel Street in the town, is currently undergoing final preparations ahead of the planned opening day on May 5.

Named ‘Inspire’ by local young people, the purpose-built centre will cater for those aged 8-19, and up to 25 for people with disabilities.

Part of the OnSide network of Youth Zones across the country, Inspire will provide a safe environment for young people to enjoy facilities including an indoor climbing wall, sports hall and underground 3G football pitch.

More than 600 young people have already registered as members before opening with an anticipated membership of over 4,000 set to benefit from activities including dance, drama, arts and crafts, martial arts, music and cooking.

The operators of the new centre have been advised by Martin Beardsworth, Commercial Property partner at Napthens.

Martin said: “The new Youth Zone is an extremely impressive development and will be a real benefit to the town.

“It has been a real privilege to play a part in helping this facility come to life.” Janine Blythe, chief executive of Inspire Youth Zone, said: “The building looks absolutely amazing, we cannot wait to share this inspirational space with the young people of Chorley.”
