Hardware specialists Carlisle Brass has appointed Preston's Motionlab for a new e-commerce build.

Carlisle Brass is one of the UK’s foremost suppliers of door and window furniture, possessing a stock in excess of over 5,000 items, a constantly expanding range that they wish to better communicate to online visitors.

The Motionlab team are no strangers to supplying agile multichannel marketing solutions for companies involved in hardware, namely Mila; coincidentally owned by the same business that owns Carlisle Brass.

It was their proven expertise and awareness of the digital requirements needed to draw a greater level of customer engagement in this particular facet of the industry that persuaded the Cumbrian firm to approach the team.

After impressing with the concepts forwarded, Motionlab will take responsibility for revamping their current e-commerce offering and developing a more functionally rich web solution similar to that of Mila’s, with integration of an ordering portal for trade customers.

The existing site will be significantly overhauled in terms of design, layout, content and navigation to encourage existing customers of Carlisle Brass who generally only proceed with ordering via fax or telephone to revert to online usage in order to streamline the process. Carl Smith, marketing manager at Carlisle Brass said: “We are excited at the prospect of working with Motionlab on this project; a big factor in us choosing them for the job was the developments they have made with the Mila site. In terms of customer service this is a giant leap forward for us and will cement our position as a market leader.”
