Lancashire’s largest business event, Lancashire Business Expo 2016, took place at the Guild Hall in Preston on Friday 4 March.
The event saw 164 exhibitors from a wide variety of sectors come together under one roof to promote their wares to the Lancashire business community.
Ian Coupe from Shout Network, the organisers of the event, said: “We were thrilled with the event and have had some fantastic feedback from the exhibitors and many of the delegates. Despite the horrendous weather in the morning, 1,500 delegates attended on the day."The buzz across both floors of the Guild Hall was fantastic, people were certainly making the most of the opportunity to engage with as many local businesses as possible.
“Businesses have been delighted with the success of the second Lancashire Business Expo, and we already have more than 50 per cent of the stand space for next year’s event booked. We’d urge anyone interested in exhibiting to contact us as soon as possible before we sell out again.”The expo also raised funds for local charity St Catherine’s Hospice, through a sponsored selfie wall as well as contributions collected on the day.
The event more than doubled its social media success from last year, and achieved a total reach of 24 million business people. Lucky 6 Marketing set up a tweet wall in the central stage area of the Guild Hall and all the tweets announcing competitions, special features and promotions on stands, etc., could be viewed on this.Speaker sessions were held during the day from key figures in Lancashire County Council who are keen to support Lancashire businesses through strategic support and funding initiatives. One example is Boost Business Lancashire, which runs a range of programmes to help address the challenges many businesses face and help growth-hungry businesses achieve their aspirations.
