MKM expansion creates 16 Blackpool jobs

Hull-based MKM Building Supplies has opened a branch in Blackpool, creating 16 new jobs in the town.

MKM, which is the UK’s largest independent builders’ merchant, now has 55 branches across the country including four in Lancashire.

The Blackpool operation, at Whitehills Business Park, stocks building supplies, heating, landscaping, timber, and more. As well as take-off, brick matching and other services, the new branch hosts kitchen and bathroom showrooms.

MKM Blackpool’s team of specialists is lead by branch directors Darren Whiteside and Joe Keane.

Darren said: “The hand-picked team we’ve put together in Blackpool is excited to get started. We want to show what the MKM brand means: great service, fantastic prices and a huge product range.” The Blackpool store is now open for business, and offering free bacon butties to customers during its first two weeks of trade.
