Miller Homes’ Community Fund has donated £5,000 amongst a number of schools, community groups and charities across the North West, including Merseyside, Greater Manchester, and Lancashire.

The homebuilder saw a flurry of applications within the first few weeks of the fund launching in September 2022, attracting community groups across the region to apply for support. The initiative extended across its 10 regions in England and Scotland – generating over 400 applications. Groups applied for donations ranging from £250 up to a maximum of £2,000.

Across the UK, 96 community groups have been supported and after much consideration, 10 worthy causes in the North West were chosen by Miller Homes staff who volunteered to take on the role of Community Fund Ambassadors.

A total of £1,600 was donated to charities across Wigan, including £1,000 to All Ears MHA C.I.C, a cause set up in memory of Aleysha Rothwell, which supports local schools with mental health awareness sessions and assemblies. A further £600 was sent to The Storehouse Project which aims to reduce poverty in the North West of England and promote social inclusion, for their Christmas hamper campaign.

The community of Burnley also received £1,250 in funding allocated to two causes: Padiham Parish Foodbank and the Cliviger Monday Club.

Further contributions of £1,800 went to Outdoors4All Together in Clitheroe, £500 to the charity Rummage Rescuers in Blackburn, £500 to Halewood Town Junior FC and £500 to Royton & Crompton Over 60’s Group in Oldham.

Clare Noakes, sales director for Miller Homes North West, said: “I would like to thank everyone who took the time to apply to the Community Fund, and congratulations to the successful candidates.

“It has been an incredibly rewarding initiative for the team to be part of and to see first-hand the difference these donations have made to the different groups we’ve been able to support. Working closely with our local communities and helping worthy local projects and initiatives close to our developments in the North West will always be one of our top priorities.”

The Miller Homes Community Fund is set to open for applications later this spring. To find out more about the Community Fund and to apply please visit: https://www.millerhomes.co.uk/corporate/community-fund.aspx.
